| Workshops and interest sessions for the conference will be selected from proposals submitted. CLTA reserves the right to cancel workshops and sessions with insufficient enrollment. Presenters MUST be current members of CLTA (except exhibitors). All contact is through the lead presenter. He/she is responsible for keeping any co-presenters informed.
*NCLB Criteria: In order for our colleagues to be supported with NCLB, Title II, Part A funding to participate in the conference, your workshop/session abstract should address the following goals for the participants:
- Strengthen teachers' content knowledge of the languages and cultures they teach;
- Provide teachers will the pedogocial content skills that help their students to acquire the target language and culture;
- Improve classroom management skills;
- Advance teacher understanding of effective instructional strategies that are grounded in scientific reasearch (cite sources, if possible).
The above points will be incorporated into the rubric for accepting proposals for the 2009 conference. Also, please avoid terms such as "games" and "fun," and substitute them with such terms as "motivation," "engagement," etc.
