Call for Proposals: CLTA Conference 2009, Sacramento

CLTA announces that it is accepting proposals for presentations of interest sessions and workshops for the annual conference in Sacramento, February 26 - March 1, 2009, at the DoubleTree Hotel. This year's conference is earlier than ever before, so CLTA is asking you to submit your proposals now. You can submit your proposal online at http://www.clta.net/conference/.

World Language Jamboree, Anaheim

The CLTA World Language Jamboree will be held at Esperanza High School in Anaheim on Saturday, November 1. 2008, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be over 60 interest sessions for you to attend. Information and registration forms are available at http://www.clta.net/jamboree/.

Free Summer Study Abroad

CLTA is offering grants to study in Spain, France, Germany, Quebec, and Italy. These grants usually have few or no applicants making your odds of getting the grant very good. Postmark deadline for applications is January 5, 2009. For information and application forms go to http://www.clta.net/awards/. CLTA membership is required for both 2008 and 2009.

New Teacher Grant to Attend CLTA Conference

CLTA offers grants for teachers with no more that 4 years of teaching experience to attend the CLTA Conference. Award amounts vary from year to year but are expected to be about $300 this year. The grant may be used for registration, travel, lodging, and meals. For information and application forms go to http://www.clta.net/awards/. This grant usually has few or no applicants so your chances of receiving it could be good.
