Objectives

• Take a trip to Bayreuth, Germany to go to a Wagner-Festival
• Get information on how to get there, how to buy tickets, get lodging, information about performances.

Material

• Vocabulary sheets (appropriate to level)
• Computer with access to World Wide Web
• Student worksheet

Procedure

1. Students study appropriate vocabulary sheet to help them in their readings.
2. Students share ideas of what they might encounter on their visit to Bayreuth to the Wagner-Festival.
3. Students will find a performance they would like to hear. Give the day, time, and duration of the performance.
4. Students will find the name of the place and the special name of the area where the performance takes place.
5. Each student will write up an imaginary incident from this visit and then report it to the class

Extension

Students will go on a similar trip to Salzburg for a Mozart-Festival.
