Visiting Tokyo Disneyland

Procedure

1. Ask students to list the characters you can meet at Disneyland and events or special show you want to see.

2. Ask student to share what characters and show events you want to see.

3. Have student select an event site http://www.tokyodisneyland.co.jp/index_e.html

and help them to select in view in Japanese.

4. To help students to use their cognates to guess the type of show event from visual and words written in katakana and other information they can gather from the page.

5. To help students to create a poster using katakana.

Extension

1. Have students survey the three most popular shows and make a diagram of the result.

2. Present the result and discuss the reason with partner.

 

Visiting Tokyo Disneyland

Student' Worksheet

 

In this activity we will be visiting the Tokyo Disneyland web site.

1. List below the characters you can meet at Disneyland.

2. List below the events or special show you want to see.

3. Visit the web-site at http://www.tokyodisneyland.co.jp/index_e.html

4. Chose content language: Select Japanese to view in Japanese.
What is the other language?

5. Select: Yotei o tateyoo!

6. Select: Show schedule 8/6 | 8/7 |

7. You want to see as many shows as you can, so look at the schedule and make a plan. Disneyland is a big place so allow time to get from place to place to see each from the beginning.

8. You can click on the show titles and look at the pictures of the events and the headings. Write down any what you learn about each show.

9. Write your plan and tell your friend so that your friend will know where you are going to be and can find you.

10. Now choose one show you like and make your own poster for the show. Be sure to include the name of the show, place, and the show time, and anything else you learn to represent the show.
