1. According to the map legend, identify the Cities, Regions, Island, Mountains, and Capes with their colors.2. Choose a modern city or region and give the nearby cities, rivers, mountains that you would see on a visit to that area.
3. Fill in the bodies of water, countries, and cities we would see in our travel to this area.
Applications:
1. You and a friend have decided to go to the Mediterranean region of The Aeneid. List all the places you would visit (cities, sites, and attractions).2. Discuss with a partner your preferences for cities/regions you would like to visit. Then decide which locale you both would like to see.
Extensions:
Your teacher may ask you to prepare one or more of the following:
-Write a diary entry about your trip that you and your friend took and what you thought about the experience.-Calculate the costs of the trip in the currency of the country for meals, transportation, museum admissions, et cetera.
-Reroute the trip Aeneas took. How would you prefer to have traveled?
-Prepare a travel brochure for the "Wanderings of Aeneas" including text and images from the ancient locations.
-Create a recruiting poster for the soldier in Aeneas' army. Why would they want to travel all around the "known world"?
