Procedure:

 

1. Ask students to list what they know about each of the artists.

 

2. Have students go to the web site on each of the artists given and find and write down the information on the worksheet.

3. To help students find expected information have students look for cognates.

 

4. Then have students look for meaning in context.

 

5. Ask students to list words they don't understand and think they need to know. Let students work with a partner to guess the meaning of words they need. Then discuss with class.

 

Extension:

 

Have students create their own version of a mural or a surrealist painting.

Have students present their painting to the class and give information about the artist.
