What kind of information would you expect to get at the information desk?

Reading

• We will be visiting a site for a museum in Uruguay.
• Go to web site http://muva.elpais.com.uy/Esp/
• ¿Qué hay en la planta baja?
• ¿Quién es Pedro Figari?
• ¿En qué sala puedes encontrar sus obras?
• ¿Dónde está la sala, en qué piso?
• ¿Es Pedro un escultor, un fotógrafo o un pintor?
• De sus obras, ¿cuál te gusta más? ¿por qué?
• Sube al segundo piso. ¿quién expone aquí?
• Busca la obra "Al que le caiga el burro que se lo ponga." Descríbela.

Extension

• Escribe una carta a un amigo en la que vas a describir tu visita al museo. Cuéntale quiénes son los tres principales artistas que están exponiendo ahora, cuál de los artistas te gusta más y por qué. Describe una obra del artista qué más te gustó: los colores, el estilo. Al ver la obra ¿qué recuerdos o emociones te trae esta obra ?

Procedure

1. Ask students to list what general information they expect to get at a museum information desk
2. Ask students to mention what the expect to see at a modern art museum
3. Have students look for cognates and for meaning in context
4. Ask students to make educated guesses
5. Ask students to go to a chat room and discuss meaning of words they do not know.
