6. Escribe un párrafo de descripción de tu animal favorito y di por qué es tu favorito. Incluye un dibujo o una foto de tu animal favorito.

1. explore and identify various animals in Spanish

2. enrich reading skills and Spanish vocabulary

3. recall and analyze reasons for various species being endangered

4. develop possible means of protecting endangered species

5. practice writing skills with new vocabulary

6. enjoy a virtual tour of two Zoos

Materials

1. computer lab and disks

2. student guide sheets

3. vocabulary study sheets and color photos of animals

Procedures

1. classroom introduction to animals and endangered species in form of presentation with photos/computer multi-media

2. creating vocabulary lists by generating word webs

3. go to computer lab and distribute work sheets and give general instructions

4. monitor student progress on the computers

5. classroom small group presentations and discussions of the researched material as oral evaluation

6. turn in final paper - teacher makes written comments and uses rubric to evaluate
